We were blessed with a return visit from +Julius from the Diocese of Manicaland (a province in Eastern Zimbabwe) having last visited us in 2011.

Since that time, the supreme courts in Zimbabwe have ruled in favour of the Anglican Church (and Bishop Julius) as the lawful owners of various Diocesan properties in the province after effectively being removed by a 'breakaway group' and now excommunicated former Bishop. This marks an end to a period of uncertainty and anguish for +Julius and his Diocesan congregation which is very good news.

There was further good news for St Marys when +Julius announced that he was making Fr Mark a Canon of his Diocese as a mark of grateful thanks for St Marys continual spiritual and financial support. He also extended an open and kind invitation to all at St Marys to pay his diocese a visit in the future.

On Wednesday 26th March +Jonathon - the Bishop of Fulham, spent a very busy and productive day in our parish. During his time here he presided over the usual Weds School Mass at Peter Hills, following which he met some 6th form students and members of the Senior Management Team over lunch at Bacon's College.

The schedule Fr Mark and Fr Richard had drawn up then took him to Albins, the UpMarket Charity Shop, a meeting at Bede House as well as visiting some parishioners at home.

The day ended with an informal get together including a lovely meal (provided by Helen and Florence) at St Mary's with it's PCC.

Here are some memories from the day.

Many congratulations to Fr Richard who was ordained on Wednesday 19th December at St Mary's.

The church was full to the rafters with standing room only in which many of the local clergy were in attendance as well as the Bishops of Edmonton, Southwark and Manicaland. It was also great to have Fr Richard's family and friends at St Mary's to share this momentous occasion  - we wish him a long and rewarding ministry.

Here are some memories from the evening.
